Colombia Estados Unidos de Colombia 10 Pesos 30.4.1884 Pick S178. A locally printed and historically important example. This note was issued by the Sovereign State of Cudinamarca, as a part of the short-lived United States of Colombia. The confederation of states eventually was disestablished in 1886. The Colombian peso at the time followed the French franc, which meant it was convertible to gold. However, the loose economy system at that time and further turmoil made this conversion to specie questionable. Hand signatures remain bold on this example. PMG Very Fine 20.
