Danzig Stadtgemeinde 5 Milliarden Mark 11.10.1923 Pick 30. As the inflation crisis built up more and more steam in the summer and autumn of 1923, the Senate passed periodically more decrees that permitted higher denominations with the last being in October. Late October saw currency reform with a new issuer and the replacement of the Mark with the Gulden. The planning for the Gulden switchover began in July 1923, when it was announced that a new independent currency was being established with the approval of the League of Nations finance committee. The Gulden's rate of exchange was introduced at a value of 25 Gulden equals £1 Sterling. This charming uniface note grades PMG Superb Gem Uncirculated 67 EPQ with embossing. This is the highest graded Pick 30 seen by PMG with no equals. The highest auction price for this number that we know of is $1,840 during 2014 for a PMG 66 EPQ example. Also, we see that PMG has not graded a single Danzig note of any number higher. This makes for an estimate in the range of... HID08701242017
