French West Africa Institut d'Emission de l'AOF et du Togo 1000 Francs ND (5.10.1955) Pick 48s Specimen. A 1000 Francs that should be considered a Specimen rather than a Proof due to its all zero serial numbers and signatures. This is the largest denomination of the final series issued for French West Africa, before issuance was taken over by the West African States. Heavy embossing is evident on this all original piece, and the expected paper wave is seen on this grandly sized issue prepared on light French banknote paper.
