Australia Commonwealth of Australia £50 ND (1918) Pick 8c R67b. All colors on the face and back of this higher denomination are bright and enjoyable. This is the third variety, with Cerutty-Collins signatures but bolder serial numbers and a suffix. Like all denominations above £10, they were recalled and deemed invalid for legal tender on 31st August 1945. Unremarkably, most notes were redeemed as they presented a large amount of purchasing power, and because most high denomination notes at the time were already used by banks for transfer purposes. We estimate four to five examples are known, most well circulated. Minor repairs and pinholes are noted. PMG Very Fine 25. HID08701242017
