Australia Commonwealth of Australia £5 ND (1927) Pick 13c R41L. The heavy blue intaglio inks and brightly colored underprints are hallmarks of this appealing example. A view of the Hawkesbury River in New South Wales is featured as the vignette on the back. This particular variety has the title of EC Riddle as the Chairman of Directors, Note Issue Department instead of Governor, Commonwealth Bank of Australia. This error was quickly corrected, leading to the relative rarity of this run, which only carried the prefixes Q11 and Q12. This note serves as the plate note on page 225 in the 27th edition of the Renniks Australian Coin and Banknote Values Guide.
