Republic Fortress 1/4 Real 1843-MV, KM26, AU55 NGC, nicely toned with natural surfaces, a rare little coin in this quality and superior to the piece sold from the Janson Collection (Sedwick, 4-2011). Clearly the variety without the "A" on the hillside. This piece probably did not circulate for long but its highly debased silver composition caused it to lose any evidence of surface reflectivity.
