Thomas Simon designed this coinage, and on its edge in raised letters he placed the legend in Latin reading "HAS NISI PERITURUS MIHI ADIMAT NEMO" -- "Let No One Remove These [Letters] From Me Under Penalty Of Death." And no one did.
