George II Roses & Plumes Crown 1732, S-3686, Young Bust, MS64 PCGS, sharp portrait with some light mint-made adjustments through the king's hair and brow, reverse shield boldly detailed, exceptionally choice fields, splashes of bright silvery luster among the legends and the luster is also evident under the golden gray toning highlighted by flashy blue iridescence. Not perfect but still a wonderful George II crown, and the first year of issue. In fact, among the best pieces we can recall seeing. The Roses & Plumes signify that the silver used to make this coin came from the West Country mining concern called the Company for Smelting Pit Coale and Sea Coale, hallmarks that appeared rather infrequently over many years through several reigns and add considerable interest to this historical issue. Very scarce so fine! From The Estate of John C. Hugon.
