Victoria Proof Farthing 1853, Young Head, S-3950, Peck-1579 (copper, very scarce), KM725, PR65 BN Cheshire Collection NGC, usual bold proof impression, an exquisite farthing having super-choice surfaces mahogany brown in color beneath awesome and really vivid "royal blue" iridescence evenly smooth, creating wondrous eye-appeal. Obverse 3: "W W" incuse without stops on truncation of portrait. Perhaps the prettiest Young Head farthing we have ever seen. 2012 SCBC value for "FDC" is £825 (about $1300) but you're unlikely ever to see another one this superb. Struck for the special sets of this year, mainly distributed to the royal family. From The Estate of John C. Hugon.
