Victoria Proof Penny 1861, Laureate or Bun Head, bronze, S-3954 and KM749.2 for type, Peck-1640, Freeman-23, the so-called "heavy flan" weighing 11.16 g, PR64 BN NGC, a most pleasing specimen having smooth chocolate-brown color and a crisp proof impression. Peck calls this very rare. Freeman gives it his R18 estimate (6-15 known). A Proof of Record and greatly desirable in choice state.
