Victoria Proof Pattern Cent 1862, Laureate bust left ("bun" die by Wyon) / Circle dividing the value ONE CENT within a wreath, HONG-KONG 1862 around, Prid-261, KM-Pn8, Proof 64 Red and Brown NGC. Ex: Jerry Remick Collection, sold in October 2006 by Spink & Son, London. Sharply struck with abundant mint-red color remaining. One of the finer Hong Kong copper patterns in the Remick Collection and the finest example, by far, of this type that we have seen. A number of different Hong Kong One Cent Patterns were struck in 1862. Most are generally dull, with carbon spots, fingerprints, etc. This piece is exceptional in quality and incorporates the British Imperial bust (the designing appearing on the British Pennies from 1860-1894) as opposed to the adopted crowned Victoria portrait.
Estimate: 6000.00-8000.00 USD
