Counterstamped 6/8 ND (1758), KM8.2, VF Details "scratches" NGC, an old-time piece, and obviously most of these are going to be found mishandled: it was an emergency issue with a value for use in Jamaica of 6 shillings and 8 pence, with a large "GR" (for King George) stamped twice upon an 8 Reales of Ferdinand VI dated 1755-Mo MM. Rare. Jamaica was a pirates' lair during the period of Spanish rule in the century before this coin was used; during British rule, the island and Port Royal in particular experienced numerous slave revolts, including a famous one in 1760. This coin was probably there when it happened.
