F (MN and NT ligate), laureate head of Vejovis right; below neck, thunderbolt; below chin, monogram of ROMA / Infant Genius seated on goat right; above, caps of the Dioscuri; below, thyrsus; all within laurel wreath. Crawford 353/1a. Sydenham 724. Fonteia 9. Light golden toning on reverse. Extremely fine.From The Mayflower Collection. The reverse depicts a statue that was within the Temple of Vejovis in Rome, and recalls that the god Jupiter was suckled by the she-goat Amaltheia on Mt. Ida during his infancy.
