Copper Pattern One Centavo 1886, KM-Pn70. Trial striking in copper for an unissued type. The bust side employed the dies of the issued KM 183 &184 types. The backside with the unused and unissued denomination of " 1 Centavo" is unique. Obtained in 1975 from a dealer near Scovill, Dana believed this was a Waterbury issue. It apparently circulated for some time somewhere as it has marks and wear; it is arguably "barely VF" as Dana indicated.Dana Roberts Collection and Study Group.
