Medellin 10 Centavos 1885 Varieties, KM175.2 & KM175.2a. During this era the international economic situation caused a panic in the silver market and a resultant imbalance in the value of the silver coins of higher fineness within each weight classification. As a result, a myriad of sub-types of 1885 & 1886 Colombian silver (plus the rare Medellin gold issues) were created. This lot contains four pieces where the final fineness designation is 0.835 and three where it is 0.500. The seven include various transitional items.
