Medals 1880 -1917 Assortment, Unusual assemblage of local medals, mostly silver and with some outstanding. Do note the nearly-spectacular 1883 Frener effort on a 27mm, 25 gram silver flan (essentially full Peso standard ) prepared lovingly for the Art Society. Also included are two examples of the huge silver 1908 restrike of the Independence Medal (originally believed struck in 1821; this restrike might have employed the original dies). Also a third piece, in similar silver and from the same dies, but with 1913 engraved as being its date, is in choicer quality. The 1917-1923 silver medal has a splendid bust of the immensely popular President Manuel Cabrera. Quite a nice "Baker's Dozen" in typical quality for these types of items. Sold as is, NO Return.
