Full 100% striking of the central areas and peripheral letterings; the only such piece imagined by us, and the overall finest on the market since the William Higgins' dated 1856 sold in 1973. To begin to gauge the degree this piece exceeds the norm, check both the type photos in KM. Dana Roberts' specialized in many esoteric subgroups but this was among his personal favorites. Indeed, as always, the flan was imperfectly prepared, and little chips have detached themselves over the last 154 years, but this is nearly a gem for the issue.
