COLOMBIA. 8 Escudos, 1776-P SF. Popayan Mint. Charles III (1759-88). PCGS AU-55 Gold Shield.
Restrepo-73.18; Fr-36; KM-50.2. A flashy and attractive example of perhaps the most popular date in the series, which also happens to be rather elusive. Light yellow gold colored with some subtle toning and abundant luster on both sides, confined to protected areas on the obverse but shimmering across the entire reverse. The appearance is pleasing, natural, and problem free. A very nice example of the issue.
