DC-3d $2 1870 PMG Good 6 Net. A rare "Payable at Halifax" two dollars from the 1870 issue. The design of this note features a central vignette of the Indian Chief sitting on the bluff watching a train pass below and the dual portraits of General Wolfe and General Montcalm. Although heavily circulated with internal damage, very few DC-3d's are known to exist and only 4 examples show up in the PMG Population Report. A decade ago, Tom Flynn's PMG VG 8 realized $5,175, with no offerings by us since. From the Yuri Solovey Collection of Canada HID08701242017
