BC-39S $5 1954 Specimen PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. George Gunderson of the British American Bank Note Company engraved the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II that appears on this note while Gordon Yorke engraved the back scene Otter Falls, mile 996, Alaska Highway. This Specimen apparently was not part of the Bank of Canada sale in 1999 as the prefix, R/C, was not used there. It is apparently a Specimen that was used by the bank for other purposes. Along with solid zero serial numbers, SPECIMEN is neatly stamped in small red letters in four places on the face and there are four small POCs in the signature spaces.
