Cyprus Government of Cyprus 10 Shillings 1.9.1953 Pick 31 PMG Very Fine 20. Part of first series of Cypriot banknotes to feature modern Turkish alongside the English and Greek texts. Curiously, this 1953 dated note features a posthumous portrait of the late King George VI. Extraordinarily rare in issued form, and missing from many advanced collections, and conspicuously absent from the near-exhaustive Ibrahim Salem sale of Cyprus banknotes. Standard circulation is noted, with ink of the reverse. There are only three examples in the PMG Population Report at the time of cataloging, which is evidence of this being a terrific opportunity to acquire a seldom-offered British Commonwealth banknote.
