Jamaica Government of Jamaica 5 Pounds 17.3.1960 Pick 48a PMG Very Fine 25. Jamaica was the last colony using portrait banknotes to switch from King George VI notes to Queen Elizabeth II notes. This example, dated 17th March, 1960, is the first QEII note for the colony. Additionally, this stately portrait was only used for this banknote. Despite evident signs of circulation, this extremely scarce banknote has only two prefixes, 9A and 10A, for a sum total of 200,000 issued notes. The July dated example outnumbers this example 9 to 1. (11A-28A prefix range). An eagerly sought-after Queen Elizabeth II type note. HID08701242017
