Lebanon Banque de Syrie et du Liban 50 Livres 1.9.1939 Pick 30 TBB 214b PCGS Fine 12. An interesting, high denomination note that was initially stolen in transit from Egypt to Lebanon before being somehow introduced into circulation. Oddly enough, this variety, with the chevron overprint, is actually more common today than the two purposefully introduced versions, with the slash and diamond overprints. A beautiful note and grandly sized. The repairs to the note were not meant to mislead, but rather, to reinforce the many splits from circulation, as these notes had a tendency to wear out quickly. Small splits, tears, and light annotations are mentioned. Historic and desirable. HID08701242017
