Reunion Banque de la Reunion 2 Francs L.1942 Pick 32 PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. The two Franc note was the largest denomination in an emergency issue made in October, 1942 by Vichy French authorities on the island, less than eight weeks before the administration changed sides on December 1, 1943, joining the Free French. As a result only a few of these notes, emblazoned with the Vichy French Axe symbol got into circulation and even fewer were saved due to their obvious connection to the Vichy cause. Thus they are quite rare today; only two examples are listed in the PMG population report with this being the higher of the two grades, and only a handful of auction appearances have taken place, with none of the offered notes being anywhere close to this condition. PMG notes evidence of previous mounting which is difficult to locate through the holder. From the Feeling Good Collection HID08701242017
