Republic Bank Note Co. Vignette Albums Two Examples. George W. Goldsworthy was the main force behind the founding of the Republic Bank Note Co. in Pittsburgh in 1905. Goldsworthy merged the company with the Security Bank Note Co. in 1942. This lot contains two sample albums of vignettes and portraits. The vignettes and portraits were used to print bonds and stock certificates among other uses. Some of the vignettes are in photograph form. The first album is labeled, "Republic Bank Note Co." and contains 55 pages with a few blank pages at the end. The second album is titled, "Litho-Vignettes" and has 95 pages with a few blank pages at the end. The cover and several pages are loose, too. For both albums, vignettes and portraits number from two to at least 13 per page depending on their size. A couple of the vignettes are tipped in. The album covers exhibit aging and inspection is advised. There will be no returns on this lot for any reason. From the Goldsworthy Collection HID08701242017
