Bahamas Central Bank of the Bahamas 20 Dollars 1974 ND (1993) Pick UNL PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ. Quite a good note and scarce in any grades, and actually a fairly recent discovery. When Queen Elizabeth II's portrait was replaced with that of Milo Butler's in 1993, the balance of the note remained largely unchanged, except for some minor color scheme adjustments. However, at some point near the end of the A-prefix line, the back of the note was given a new engraving of Nassau Harbour, which then included Paradise Island. The first variety, Butler portrait and south-facing Nassau Harbour engraving is quite rare, and unrecorded in the Standard Catalog. All James Smith signed, undated $20s are cataloged as P-54a, regardless of the back variety. It would be safe to assume that very few of this type exist in high grade, as it was only issued with less than a full run of one prefix. HID08701242017

Estimate: 800-1000 USD
