Canadian Currency
Port of Spain, Trinidad- The Royal Bank of Canada $5 3.1.1938 Pick S151b Ch # 630-68-02 PMG Very Fine 20 Net. An extremely scarce note in issued form, regardless of condition. There are two signature varieties for this type, with this note featuring the second, that of M.W. Wilson. While appearing like a Canadian note, with a steamship plowing through frigid North Atlantic waters, this note was expressly purposed for the British colony of Trinidad and Tobago. Until 1939, denominations above $2 were printed and issued by foreign banks operating in the Caribbean. Mounting remnants, although quite visible, are luckily limited to the four corners of the note. Quite rare and seldom offered. HID08701242017
