Italy Soccorso a Sollievo dei Romani 100 Lire 1867 Pick UNL PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. A high denomination printed by the insurgent/Italian general and nationalist Giuseppe Garibaldi. They were issued during the final stage of Italian unification which included taking Rome back from the Papal States. Though these Roman Refugee Issue notes were sold as fundraising certificates, they possibly were used as paper money. Brilliant colors are seen on this Gem and historically important example.
