Even the famous collector John Jay Pittman settled for a lesser piece for his collection. A great rarity in the US gold series, David Akers noted in the catalog the estimate that only 65 to 70 examples exist. The piece is seldom offered. Three pieces have been sold by Heritage since 2015: A plugged "XF details" piece in 2017 for $14,400; an AU55 in 2016 for $44,650; an MS61 in 2015 for $70,500. The publication "Greysheet" December 2018 valuation of the piece in F12 is $12,000 (VF is $18,000).
