ARMENIA. Artaxata. 57/6 - 53/2 BC. Tetrachalkon (Bronze, 18.5 mm, 3.79 g, 12 h), Armenia under Roman Control, dated year 10 (I) of the Pompeian era and 67 (ΞZ) of Tigranid era = 55/4. Turreted bust of the Tyche of Artaxata to right. Rev. APTAΞICATΩN MHTPOΠOΛEΩC Nike advancing left, holding wreath and palm; Pompeian date to left (I) and Tigranid date to right (ΞZ). Amandry 2002 A.1. Kovacs 213. M&D 161. Rarely encountered with clear legends. This is one of the better examples of this rare type. Very fine.
