CELTIC, Lower Danube. Uncertain tribe. Circa 100 BC. Drachm (Silver, 19.5 mm, 2.22 g, 11 h), imitating an issue of Alexander III. Celticized head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. Celticized Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; below, amphora. KMW 1463. Pink 577-578. Lanz 897. Toned and clear. Obverse slightly off center, as usual, otherwise, very fine.
