SICILY. Alontion. Circa 241 BC. (Bronze, 13 mm, 1.95 g, 1 h). Head of young Dionysos to right; behind, bunch of grapes. Rev. AΛΟΝ-ΤΙΝΩΝ in two lines within laurel wreath, with ties below. Calciati I pg. 69, 11. HGC 221 var. (same obverse die but reverse wreath ties above). SNG ANS -. Extremely rare bronze from Alontion. Slightly rough, otherwise, about very fine.
