The 'Lis' grouping classified by Webb Ware (incorporating Allen's obverse dies G and H and reverses m and n) are known to form a tightly interelated series that do not pair externally with other dies recorded for the London mint. Consequently this example may represent the output of a separate London workshop, or quite conceivably the missing output of the York Mint which recorded an operating profit of seven pounds, nine shillings on coining gold and silver between Christmas 1470 and Easter 1471.
Estimate: £5,000 - £7,000
