Egypt National Bank of Egypt 50 Pounds 25.6.1898 Pick 5cts Color Trial Specimen PMG Choice About Unc 58 EPQ. One of the absolute key designs for Africa, the Middle East, and British Commonwealth enthusiasts, and widely sought after as such. This is the second highest denomination of this initial series for the National Bank of Egypt, of which all designs are very challenging to find. Of interest, this specific example is a color trial, with deep blue tones on the front (in lieu of black), and is certainly extremely rare as such. Totally original paper is noted on this lightly handled, large format note. Specimens were known to have been created for dates in 1904, 1906, 1909, 1910, and 1912. This trial example is without a date, signatures, and serial numbers. Printer notations and a perforated cancellation are noted on this pristine example.
