Canada Bank of Canada $1000 1954 BC-36 "Devil's Face" PMG About Uncirculated 55. A special offering which seldom appears in any grade, and widely sought after to complete this interesting set. The "Devil's Face" design in the hair of Queen Elizabeth II was an honest and unintended consequence of the design. After this series was released in 1954, the public began to notice what they saw as a grinning demon! The Bank of Canada acknowledge the design flaw and readjusted the hair in 1956. This highest denomination banknote had the smallest print total of the series, and is assuredly the rarest note to feature the "Devil's Hair" design. Seldom seen in any grade, and widely sought after as such. This lightly circulated example would be a welcomed addition to many collections across multiple fields of interest in the hobby. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/canada-bank-of-canada-1000-1954-bc-36-devil-s-face-pmg-about-uncirculated-55/a/4015-28280.s?type=CoinArchivesCurrency4015 HID08706262019 © 2019 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
