Cuba Banco Nacional de Cuba 100 Peso 1960 Pick 93b PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. A real piece of history. A note missing from almost all Cuban collections. The "unconfirmed" Ernesto Rafael "Che" Guevara de la Serna as bank president, 1960 issue. At this point things were heating up in Cuba, politically, and the National Bank of Cuba was not spared from radical ideological shifts. The example on offer was issued in 1960, and most likely there were only a few notes that escaped the clutches of Castro, seeing that he announced in 1961 that citizens only had 2 days to redeem the Peso of the day. Castro introduced a new series of Revolutionary Cuban Peso, mainly with the aim to prevent millions of defectors from redeeming their stashes of offshore cash. There is no sale history for this Pick, and is the sole graded example on the PMG Population Report. An incredible opportunity to own this utmost rarity with significant historical content. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/cuba-banco-nacional-de-cuba-100-peso-1960-pick-93b-pmg-gem-uncirculated-65-epq/a/4015-28360.s?type=CoinArchivesCurrency4015 HID08706262019 © 2019 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
