German Southwest Africa Swakopmunder Buchhandlung 1 Mark ND (1916-18) Pick 12 PMG Choice Uncirculated 63. A World War I emergency issue as this colony was invaded by South African troops on September 13, 1914 and the entire German colony had capitulated by August 1915. The Swakopmunder Buchhandlung (Bookstore) issued this Gutschein by order of the Windhoek Chamber of Commerce after the fighting. This issue circulated all over the colony.
