Saudi Arabia Monetary Agency 10 Riyals ND (1953) Pick 1 Haj Pilgrim Receipt PMG Choice Uncirculated 63. By far the finest graded example we have auctioned, and simply stunning in Uncirculated condition. At the time of cataloging, there are no finer examples graded in the PMG Population Report. The first four issues released by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency were Pilgrim Receipts, as their charter did not allow for the issuance of banknotes. However, these "receipts" did eventually circulate within Saudi Arabia without problems. This first type was quickly replaced a year later by a physically larger type, making this 1953 dated note quite rare today. A finest graded rarity worthy of the finest collections. Staple holes prevent an even loftier grade on this vivid and choice example.
