The East African Currency Board, 50 florins, 1 May 1920, serial number A/1 00010, dark blue and mauve-brown on multicolour underprint, George V at top centre, value in dark blue underprint at centre and at left and right, three printed signatures of Mercer, Bottomley and Ezechiel at low right, reverse mauve-brown, lion at low centre, (Pick 12a, TBB B206a), in PMG holder 53 about uncirculated, previously mounted, minor rust. A truly wonderful banknote with fresh original paper and the bonus of a very low serial number. Unparalleled as an example of the banknote printer's skills, a handsome and excessively rare note, possibly only one of two or three examples extant today. Important.

Estimate: £45,000 - £55,000
