Henry IV (1399-1413), Heavy coinage, Noble, Calais, type IIa, mm. cross pattée on rev. only, flag at stern, arms of France ancient in first quarter of shield, horizontal coronet on rudder, h in centre of rev., 7.67g/9h (Stewartby p.255, 1; SCBI Schneider 193; N 1339/1a; S 1707). A few tiny surface marks, otherwise extremely fine and probably much as struck, extremely rare

The mint accounts for Calais suggest that the bulk of gold was struck between August 1399 and Michaelmas 1401. No accounts exist between March 1404 and July 1422
