GREECE. Bank of Greece. Treasury Note, 1944. P-161a. PCGS GSG Very Fine 25 Details. Writing in Ink, Minor Tears.
Pitidis #419a. Lilac KALAMAI stamp. This Treasury issue is generally an easy to find issue, however, it becomes rare the instant it is seen with a stamp on the reverse. The most common of the stamps, though rare, is the Kalamata stamp. This rare note, has the KALAMAI handstamp which is very difficult to find , and the first of the issue that we have ever handled. This rivals the Tripoli handstamp in terms of degree of difficulty to obtain. We anticipate even some of the advanced collections do not have it. PCGS GSG comments "Writing in Ink, Minor Tears" but one cannot be too critical with varieties this rare.
Estimate: $500.00- $1000.00
