Charles I (1625-1649), Exeter mint, Halfcrown, '1642', mm. Truro rose on obv., Exeter rose on rev., King, holding marshal's baton aloft, galloping over arms, rev. scroll garnished oval shield with lion's paws at sides and date in cartouche below, 14.02g/5h (Bull 663/22 (61-35); Besly L22; SCBI Brooker 1013; N 2534; S 3071). Nearly very fine and extremely rare, the surfaces corroded and tooled to remove old gilding £10,000-£12,000
