SICILY - Adranon. (Fourth century BC). Adranon founded by Dionysius of Syracuse in 400 BC was located on the slopes of Etna, near Catania in eastern Sicily. The city was dedicated to Apollo. The city was conquered by Timoleon in 343 BC Adranon fell into the hands of the Romans during the First Punic War in 263 BC.
