WESTERN LIAO (Qara Khitay) AE private seal, Zeno-175237 (this piece), with a stylized legend interpreted as Wu Xing in Chinese; allegedly found near Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan, VF to EF, RR. Cast during the time of the Western Liao successors to the main Liao during the 12th century, also known as the Qara Khitay or Khara Khitan, established in what is now parts of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, eventually driven out by the Mongols in the early 13th century.
