GHAZNAVID: Arslanshah, 1116-1117, AV dinar (2.76g), Ghazna, AH510, A-V1650, rare subtype without circle of annulets around the field on both sides, very clear mint & date, one of the finest strikes for any dinar of Arslanshah, pierced, VF, RR. Dinars of Arslanshah were unknown before this hoard, which contained about 125 examples. There are two types, one dated 509 (only 5 found, no longer available), the rest 510, but the striking quality is miserable, and only about 30% are attractive, and probably no more than 10% have legible date 510. The 510 series has two subtypes, one with and one without circles of annulets around the central field on both sides. The subtype without annulets is much rarer.

Estimate: 200-240 USD
