UMAYYAD: AE fals (1.64g), al-Mansura, ND, A-A204, kalima divided between obverse & reverse, citing on the reverse the governor Mansur, who is perhaps Mansur b. Jumhur al-Kalbi, governor of Sind circa AH130-134, porous surfaces, especially on the obverse, Very Good, RRR. This piece confirms that the governor was indeed Mansur. The full reverse marginal text is "bism Allah duriba hadha'l-fils bi'l-mansura mimma amara bihi mansur". Another example of this type, with the obverse fully clear, but the governor's name partly off flan, was sold in our Auction 31, Lot 285.
