LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 300-250 BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 15 mm, 2.86 g, 5 h). Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress, tied below chin. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Ear of barley with leaf to right. HN III 1696. Johnson, Bronze, 60. SNG ANS 567. SNG Copenhagen 1253. Well-struck and sharp, with a fine brown patina. Extremely fine.
