LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 300-250 BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 13.5 mm, 2.67 g, 1 h). Head of Demeter to right, wearing wreath of barley ears and triple-pendant earring. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Ear of barley with leaf to right; above leaf, fly to right. HN III 1698. Johnson, Bronze, 62. SNG ANS 574. SNG Copenhagen 1261. Well-struck and sharp, with a fine brown patina. Good very fine.
