Antinous, favorite of Hadrian (died 130 AD). AE Medallion, posthumous, possibly after Cavino (1500-1570). D/ ANTINOOC HPOC. Bare head left. R/ Ram standing right; before, caduceus (?). Cf. Blum 4 and pl II, 8. AE. g. 40.28 mm. 40.00 RR. Very rare. An attractive and interesting example. Brown patina. VF.

The obverse type and the ram on the reverse seem to be loosely copied from ancient medallions of Smyrna.
