Eisler (pp. 124-5) refers to the medal as one of the two by Jean Dassier that 'mark the entry of their creator into the international court world of the 18th Century'...'the reverse commemorates two of Peter's greatest accomplishments: the creation of the Baltic fleet and the construction of St. Petersburg'.
